Wood Harbinger in BCA’s eJournal, “The Checklist”

Lots of Wood Harbinger connections in the Building Commissioning Association’s (BCA) fourth quarter edition of their eJournal, “The Checklist,” now available to read online.

First off, this issue features the results of the BCA’s recent Board of Director elections. Congratulations to Wood Harbinger’s Bruce Pitts, Commissioning Principal, and to Jeff Yirak, Commissioning Associate Principal, on their elections to the 2015 Board! Bruce has been elected to the International Board of Directors and will be serving as a Director-at-Large. Jeff has been elected to the Northwest Chapter Board. We are proud to have these industry leaders at Wood Harbinger!

Secondly, “The Checklist” features a reprinting of Jeff’s recent e-newsletter article, “Building Controls: To Be (Centralized) or Not To Be, That is the Question.” Here’s a short excerpt:

“Building control systems have become highly sophisticated computer systems capable of operating nearly any piece of heating or cooling equipment. Achieving this control capability requires good input data and robust software programming. In a world where faster, better, and cheaper weigh equally, HVAC design engineers are faced with a choice between decentralized packaged control systems and whole-building direct digital control (DDC) systems to operate their equipment, each with its own integration challenges.”
