Summer Internships

 

Wood Harbinger is looking for a full-time Electrical and a full-time Mechanical engineering summer intern starting in May or June of 2020. Wood Harbinger is a multi-discipline consulting engineering firm based in Bellevue, Washington. In this developmental role, you will apply classroom theory to perform fundamental engineering tasks under the direction of experienced project managers and project engineers assisting the electrical engineering team. You will become familiar with facilities design engineering and work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team to ensure the highest standard of quality in the firm’s work and deliverables.

Electrical Engineering Intern

Specifics include:
• Lighting level calculations in AGI32, using 3D renderings
• Electrical system design in Etap.
• Calculations and drawing review
• AutoCAD and REVIT drawing preparation
• Coordination with other engineers and design team members
• Accountable for meeting assigned and mutually agreed upon goals
• BIM management/drafting

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Specifics include:
• Energy Modeling in Trane Trace 700
• Calculations and drawing review
• AutoCAD and REVIT drawing preparation
• Coordination with other engineers and design team members
• Accountable for meeting assigned and mutually agreed upon goals
• BIM management/drafting

Here is what we are looking for:
• Minimum two years in an Engineering curriculum in pursuit of an Engineering degree at a four-year ABET accredited university
• Previous job experience which involved exposure to engineering will be considered a plus
• Proficient at the use of Microsoft Office software
• Experience with AutoCAD and REVIT is desirable

Proposal Writer

Are you a skilled, experienced, and passionate proposal writer looking for an excellent career opportunity with an awesome team in a great location? Here’s what we’re looking for:
• Degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English, or Communications
• Minimum 3 years’ experience writing proposals in the A/E/C industry
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (esp. InDesign) and Microsoft Office
• Experience with databases, preferably Cosential
• Attention and commitment to detail, quality, and accuracy; deadline oriented
• Strong organizational, and time management skills, ability to multi-task

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
• Write, prepare, and produce customized technical proposals, qualifications packages (including project descriptions and resumes), rosters, and market-specific leave-behinds
• Participate in or lead Go/No-Go and proposal strategy meetings
• Coordinate proposal debrief meetings with project managers and clients
• Maintain project and proposal database (Cosential)
• Research project opportunities, assist with lead tracking and marketing report updates
• Track, write, and submit award submissions
• Proofread and edit technical materials written by staff
