Cultivating Clients and Cucumbers: Similarities between Client Development and Gardening

Summer is well underway in Seattle, with record-setting temperatures and sun shining days. My vegetable garden is booming and blooming. Yesterday, I noticed that the cucumbers are starting to ripen. Every day promises new growth and a treat to celebrate.

I planted the vegetable garden not only for nutritional benefits, but also for the relaxed feeling I get after working in the yard. It is so satisfying to see the results of a fruitful harvest. Having fresh vegetables directly accessible is a delicious and nutritious perk!

It occurred to me yesterday, after seeing one of my cucumbers growing at unparalleled pace, how gardening and client development mirror each other.
