Wood Harbinger provided mechanical engineering services and an Energy Life Cycle Cost
Analysis (ELCCA) for this new 54,000 SF elementary school. Our energy-efficient design includes:
-
A unique boiler control system with demand based, variable temperature, hot water distribution
combined with a high efficiency condensing boiler.
-
A demand based outside air ventilation system using carbon dioxide sensors in the return
air ducts. The sensors control the volume of outside air to provide the optimum amount
of air for the variable occupancy of the classrooms.
-
Variable speed, fan powered terminal units using ECM motors minimize fan energy consumption
while maintaining room comfort.
