Airport Way Center

City of Seattle - Seattle, WA

The Airport Way Center (formerly Park 90/5 project) transformed a Starbucks Coffee headquarters and roasting plant into a highly functional support facility for the Seattle Police Department.

Wood Harbinger provided mechanical, electrical, security, and information technology design, and construction administration for the renovation of two buildings totaling 202,000 SF.

The Airport Way Center achieved LEED Gold certification for Building C and LEED Silver certification for Building A from the U.S. Green Building Council. The mechanical and electrical design includes discharging waste refrigeration heat into the adjoining interior parking area during cold periods, integrating interior daylight and occupancy sensors into lighting controls, and providing displacement ventilation to improve building health and occupant comfort.

A unique water reclamation system redirects ground water from an adjacent building's foundation drain system into a source for toilet flushing, irrigation, and car washing. It reduces water consumption by 49% and saves over a million gallons of water a year. More Government Projects. More Laboratory Projects. More Sustainable Design/LEED Certification Projects.
