Malmstrom Family Housing Units, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, MT
Wood Harbinger is providing mechanical and electrical engineering services for Phase VII. Phase VII involves the demolition and replacement of 236 duplexes located in the Peacekeeper Park Housing Area at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. The replacement units in Phase VII include one story duplex, two story duplex, and two story single family homes totaling 493 family housing units.
A high-efficiency, two-stage, down-flow vertical gas fired furnace and a direct vent gas-fired hot water heater serve each residence. Electrical designs include site infrastructure, street lighting, electric power, lighting, telephone, and cable systems.
To further enhance interdisciplinary QA/QC for Structural and Mechanical systems, the design process is using Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies for resolving compatibility conflicts early in the project cycle.
