2 Kinds of Cool: ES (Engineered Systems) Magazine

Wood Harbinger was asked to write an article for ES Magazine, detailing their work at University of Washington's Savery Hall. This article discusses Wood Harbinger's mechanical design which includes a mixed-mode VRF and natural ventilation system. This project has been recognized for its high performance and sustainability.

Retrofitting a 30-Year-Old Chilled Water Distribution System

This white paper discusses the 40,000 SF office renovation of the 4-21 Building. Wood Harbinger was responsible for the design and construction administration of this project. More specifically, Wood Harbinger's work included renovating the 1500 ton central chilled water system to serve Building 4-21 plus four other buildings; converting existing chilled water piping to a primary/secondary pumping system using variable frequency drives on the secondary pumps; and providing variable speed tertiary pumps in three of the connected buildings.

Aircraft Hangar Commissioning

Wood Harbinger stresses the importance of successfully integrating all building system components for effectiveness, efficiency, and quality through commissioning practices. This white paper, published in 1993, examines the philosophy and management of the commissioning process as related to the large wide bodied hangar dedicated to the decorative paint process.
